Our new Space Laboratory in Berlin starting Q2 2026
We are pleased to announce that, starting in summer 2026, we will be available for you with our new Space Laboratory. We are expanding our Berlin site with an additional laboratory specifically designed for aerospace testing. In the future, we will offer an even broader range of testing capabilities for your requirements. Specifically, this includes:
- 200 kN vibration system: Realistic simulation of launch and operational loads
- ISO 8 cleanroom conditions: Testing for optical systems, sensors, and sensitive hardware
- Capability for large test specimens: Up to 3 t and dimensions of up to 2 × 2 × 3 m
- Large slip table: 2 × 2 m for large-format structures and assemblies
- Additional vibration systems: Additional shakers with 80 kN and 35 kN
- DAkkS-accredited testing laboratory: Reliable test results in accordance with recognized quality standards
- Modern workspaces and conference rooms for customer teams
With this expansion, we are specifically aligning our environmental testing and qualification testing services with the requirements of the space sector, enabling us to meet your testing requirements even more effectively.

High-performance environmental testing technology combined with controlled cleanroom conditions.
This enables even highly sensitive systems to be tested under realistic mechanical loads. Such a combination is rarely available in this form. A testing facility designed for the most demanding high-tech applications.
High-performance vibration and shock testing systems
The new testing laboratory of PAConsult is equipped with modern electrodynamic vibration systems and enables realistic simulation of mechanical loads, such as those occurring during launch vehicle lift-off or subsequent operational conditions.
The core element of the facility is an electrodynamic shaker with an excitation force of up to 200 kN.
Main system: 200 kN Shaker
Electrodynamic Shaker 200 kN:
- Excitation force up to 200 kN
- Slip table 2 × 2 m
- Test specimen weight up to 3 t
- Max. specimen dimensions in Z-axis: 3 m × 2 m × 2 m (H × W × D)
- Max. specimen dimensions in X/Y-axis: 3 m × 3 m × 3 m (H × W × D)
- Operation under ISO 8 cleanroom conditions
- 96-channel control system for precise execution of complex test profiles
- Cleanroom operation
The system is suitable for both vibration testing and shock testing as part of qualification and acceptance testing.

Additional vibration systems
In addition to the main system, we operate two further electrodynamic shakers to provide additional testing capacity.
Electrodynamic shaker 80 kN
- Excitation force up to 80 kN
- Slip table 100 × 90 cm
Electrodynamic shaker 35 kN
- Excitation force up to 35 kN
- Slip table 75 cm × 75 cm
These systems enable both the testing of smaller test specimens and the parallel execution of multiple test campaigns.

Climate testing
Large climatic chambers are additionally available for the simulation of environmental conditions.
This enables both climatic testing and the conditioning of test specimens to the required temperature as part of vibration or shock testing.
Possible tests:
- Temperature testing
- Humidity testing
- Combined climatic and functional testing
The systems are designed for test specimens up to 2.80 m × 1.40 m × 2.30 m (H × W × D).

Testing for complex and sensible Systems
The testing capabilities of the new laboratory are designed for demanding mechanical environmental testing of sensitive and complex systems. In addition to complete systems, individual assemblies and instruments can also be tested.
Typical test specimens include, for example:
- Satellite structures and aerospace assemblies
- Optical instruments and payloads
- Sensors and precision systems
- Electronic assemblies
- Mechanisms and structures
Through the combination of high-performance vibration testing systems and cleanroom conditions, the laboratory is particularly suitable for systems where both mechanical durability and a controlled environment are critical.
Flight Acceptance Testing to the highest quality standards
Environmental simulation testing is performed in accordance with the ECSS-E-ST-10-03 standard, thereby meeting established requirements for space qualification. Test profiles are individually adapted and implemented according to mission-specific boundary conditions, launch vehicle systems, and customer-specific requirements. Our focus is particularly on qualification and acceptance testing of satellite components and payloads.
In addition, PAConsult also supports projects from other high-tech sectors, including:
- Defence
- Aviation
- Rail
- Automotive
- Elektronics and high-tech-industrie

Vibration testing under cleanroom conditions
Sensitive systems—particularly in the aerospace sector or optical instrumentation technology—place special demands on the test environment. Even minimal particle contamination can impair the functionality or performance of such systems.
The new testing laboratory of PAConsult enables vibration and shock testing under ISO Class 8 cleanroom conditions.
This environment ensures controlled particle concentration levels and is particularly suitable for testing of:
- Optical systems and instruments
- Sensors and precision hardware
Integration area for sensitive test specimens
In addition to the testing laboratory, an integration area under cleanroom conditions is available. This enables the safe preparation, handling, and inspection of test specimens before and after test execution.
Part of a growing technology and aerospace hub
In recent years, Berlin has developed into an important location for aerospace and high-tech companies. In addition to established enterprises, numerous research institutions and innovative technology companies are based here.
With the new testing laboratory, PAConsult is expanding the available testing capacities in the capital region and thereby supporting projects in the aerospace, aviation, and other high-tech industries.

Supported through GRW-funding
The establishment of the new testing laboratory is supported by the State of Berlin and the Federal Government within the framework of the Joint Task for the Improvement of Regional Economic Structures (GRW).
The funding enables investments in modern testing technology and infrastructure, further strengthening Berlin as a technology and aerospace hub.
The project contributes to:
- Expanding testing capacities for high-tech industries
- Supporting innovative companies in the development and qualification of new systems
- Creating additional jobs in the technology sector
