IP54 protection class test - keeping your technology safe!
Imagine if your equipment had to withstand outdoor use in a dusty workshop or light rain - without failure or damage. This is where IP54 comes in. It provides solid protection against dust and splashing water so that your technology remains reliable, whether in production, on the construction site or in the commercial sector. IP54 is based on the international standard DIN EN 60529 (IEC 60529) and is often used for equipment in demanding environments.

What does IP54 mean for you?
IP stands for Ingress Protection - protection against the ingress of foreign matter. The numbers indicate the degree of protection:
5 - Dust protected: Protection against harmful levels of dust. This means that the housing is largely dustproof, but the ingress of very small quantities of dust is not completely excluded.
4 - Splashproof: Protection against splashing water from all sides. The device is protected against water splashing against the case from various directions.
How we test your product for IP54:
For a device to be IP54 certified, it must pass two tests:
Dust ingress test: The case is exposed to fine dust. At the end of the test, we check whether it has penetrated in sufficient quantities to affect its function.
Water test: Water is sprayed from all directions. The water droplets must have no harmful effect on the electronics or functionality.

Where does IP54 make the difference?
Whether in a dusty production hall or outside in changing weather conditions - devices with IP54 are built to last. Typical areas of application are
- Industry and trade
- Workshops and production halls
- Outdoor lighting with limited weather protection
- Hand tools and technical devices for outdoor use
How you benefit: More safety, fewer breakdowns
With IP54-rated products, you can rely on durable, robust technology. That means less maintenance, fewer breakdowns - and more efficiency for your business.
